What this bill does

Establishes new budget oversight and support duties for educational service districts (ESDs), and new reporting requirements for ESD employees who suspect that school district directors or employees may be engaged in financial misconduct. Bars persons who have knowingly violated certain school financial requirements from future employment at public schools, school districts, and ESDs. Directs the Washington State School Directors' Association to provide funding and finance training for school district directors. Provides that if the Attorney General institutes legal action against a school board director, officer, or employee for financial malfeasance, misfeasance, or nonfeasance, the state must reimburse the school district for any unrecovered damages, up to $750,000.
