ESB 6246 — Concerning emissions from emissions-intensive, trade-exposed facilities under the climate commitment act.

What this bill does

Requires the owners or operators of emissions-intensive trade-exposed (EITE) facilities covered under the Climate Commitment Act to develop and submit an assessment of potential greenhouse gas emission reduction projects to the Department of Ecology (Ecology) every four years. Amends the required contents of an Ecology report on EITE no-cost allowance allocation that is due to the Legislature in December, 2026.
