SSB 5587 — Concerning affordable housing development in counties not closing the gap between estimated existing housing units within the county and existing housing needs.

What this bill does

Requires the Washington Center for Real Estate Research to provide a biennial analysis of each county's progress in closing the gap between existing housing units and estimated housing needs. Directs the Public Works Board to consider whether a project encourages infill development or any other increase in affordable housing units when prioritizing applications for grants and loans to cities and counties.
