ESSB 5129 — Concerning common interest communities.

What this bill does

Requires common interest communities not subject to the Washington Uniform Common Interest Ownership Act (WUCIOA) to comply with WUCIOA provisions related to meetings, board response and powers during a government declaration of emergency, methods of accepting payment of assessments, electric vehicle charging stations, and heat pumps. Expands the list of the WUCIOA provisions applicable to certain plat or miscellaneous communities and makes those provisions applicable to a larger number of such communities. Authorizes investment of reserve funds in securities if certain requirements are met. Permits the buyer of a unit to waive receipt of a resale certificate if the resale certificate is unavailable. Revises WUCIOA provisions related to meetings, voting by unit owners, electric vehicle charging stations, and heat pumps.
