What this bill does

Authorizes, until July 1, 2026, certain counties or cities to adopt local amendments to the State Building Code that allow for up to five stories of group R-2 occupancy to be served by a single exit under certain conditions. Requires the State Building Code Council to adopt by rule, by July 1, 2026, standards to allow for up to five stories of group R-2 occupancy to be served by a single exit and make them available for local adoption.
