What this bill does

Creates a grant program to encourage hospitals to use toxicology screenings capable of detecting fentanyl and other synthetic opioids. Requires the Department of Health to conduct a public outreach campaign on the risks of misusing fentanyl and other synthetic opioids. Requires the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs to study issues relating to the presence and associated dangers of synthetic opioid residue in motor vehicles. Requires jails to provide individuals with information on substance use disorder treatment programs upon release.
