ESHB 1998 — Concerning co-living housing.

What this bill does

Establishes a definition of co-living housing as a residential development with sleeping units that are independently rented and lockable and provide living and sleeping space, and residents share kitchen facilities with other sleeping units in the building. Requires a city or county planning under the Growth Management Act to allow co-living housing in any residential zone within an urban growth area that allows multifamily housing. Prohibits a city or county from imposing certain regulations or restrictions for co-living housing.
