HB 1317 — Concerning grassroots lobbying disclosure. (REVISED FOR PASSED LEGISLATURE: Concerning grass roots lobbying disclosure.)

What this bill does

Adjusts the deadline for a sponsor of a grassroots campaign to file with the Public Disclosure Commission from 30 days after becoming the sponsor to within five business days of publicizing the campaign, or within 24 hours of publicizing the campaign if it is publicized 30 days before or during a legislative session. Requires the disclosure of certain information pertaining to an organization contributing $25 or more for a campaign from its general treasury fund, and the disclosure of certain information of each person contributing $25 or more specifically for the campaign. Specifies disclosure requirements for advertisements for grassroots campaigns, which closely align with existing statutory requirements for other political advertisements.
